Шоссейные велосипеды. Дорожные велосипеды предназначены для использования на асфальте/твердом покрытии и характеризуются узкими шинами, которые обычно накачиваются до относительно высокого давления (6-8 бар) для низкого сопротивления качению.

Рама дорожного велосипеда имеет особую геометрию, а форма руля (в виде бараньих рогов) позволяет расположить руки и тело велосипедиста таким образом, чтобы минимизировать сопротивление воздуха и обеспечить длительную комфортную езду. Современные дорожные велосипеды также оснащаются дисковыми тормозами, которые делают торможение эффективным при любых погодных условиях.
